I’ve Finally Found a Sailboat!

After much searching and deliberation, I can finally say I’ve found my sailboat! She’s a 30-footer, and while she’s far from her prime right now, I see the potential. This is going to be a real adventure, both on land and at sea.

There’s something special about stepping aboard an older boat and feeling the history within her. She has a classic layout with a forepeak, a quarter berth, a main saloon, and a tiny little toilet. But you know what? That’s everything you need for life on the water. Simplicity is the key to the freedom that sailing brings.

At the moment, she’s far from seaworthy. The hull needs love, the rigging isn’t what it used to be, and the interior has seen better days. But I don’t see problems – I see opportunities. The project of restoring her to her former glory will be a challenge, but it’s also a journey in itself. Every hour spent working on her will bring me closer to my dream of sailing around the world.

It won’t be easy, and there will undoubtedly be unexpected obstacles along the way, but I’m more than ready to roll up my sleeves and get started. I can’t wait to share every step of this journey with you here on the blog – from the first scrape of sandpaper to the first sail.

If you have tips, experience, or just want to follow along, don’t hesitate to reach out. This is just the beginning of a grand adventure. Together, we’ll give this old lady a new lease on life and transform her into a boat capable of taking me and my dreams out onto the open ocean.

Stay tuned for updates – and welcome aboard!
