August in Sweden is synonymous with the crayfish party, one of the most cherished late-summer traditions. This time, we set off by car to Dalarna to share this experience with our dear friends. The journey went smoothly as usual; we stopped for a fika while charging the car, and the mood was high. A-C and I always enjoy each other's company, and every moment we share feels special and filled with warmth.

When we finally arrived in Dalarna, we began planning for the night. Our original plan was to sleep in our hammock tent, but to our delight, our friends suggested something much more unique. Since they hadn't put their boat in the water this year, it was still sitting in the garden. "Would you like to sleep in the boat?" they asked. Of course, we wanted to!

The boat, a little beauty about 6 meters long, had a small cabin in the bow where we prepared our sleeping area. Because of small children, there were also overhead bunks, making it a bit cramped, but we took it all with a good laugh. Sleeping in a boat on land was an experience in itself.

The evening was wonderful, with delicious food, great company, and the atmosphere that only a crayfish party can offer. As night fell, we climbed down (or up?) into the boat and fell asleep close together on a narrow, curved cushion that was no more than 70 cm wide. Despite this, we woke up refreshed the next day, ready to enjoy a good breakfast before beginning our journey home.

A big thank you to our friends for this unforgettable experience. This crayfish party will stay with us for a long time!
